Everything was better in the past? Not really. When it comes to sneakers, a lot has changed in recent years. Nevertheless, we can't get enough of some "oldies", especially if they come from adidas Originals! Whether tennis, running or soccer - countless sports shoe highlights from over 70 years of company history are slumbering in the Herzogenaurach archives. While some fall into oblivion, others start a second career as lifestyle shoes. This season, the three-stripe brand is once again launching its best retro styles in brand-new colorways. We show you the absolute must-haves!
It looks almost the same as it did when it conquered the "Holy Lawn" of Wimbledon. With its white smooth leather upper and perforated three stripes, this iconic tennis sneaker is as timeless and versatile as a clean white shirt. A bright heel tab and Stan Smith logo in sorbet colors give the all-new Stan Smith a stylish fresh kick.
Once a soccer shoe, now a trendy sneaker: with its jagged three stripes and gold foil print on the side, the Gazelle stays true to the iconic original from 1968. A soft suede upper in non-white colors and the T-shaped toe cap complete the clean adidas Originals sneaker. The brand new indoor version is based on a particularly high-quality version from 1979 and comes with a slightly transparent natural rubber outsole.
Here comes a real highlight for all retro running fans: the Forest Grove sneaker is based on the Oregon running shoe, which adidas launched in 1982 in response to the American jogging boom. A wedge-shaped silhouette and the distinctive mesh overlay on the midsole give this retro trainer an authentic vintage vibe.
This reissue of the '80s fitness classic wows with a super-soft leather upper and signature logo window at the lace bar. Thanks to the two-piece rubber cupsole with EVA insert, this adidas Originals sneaker doesn't skimp on comfort either.
